My most recent client said she was frustrated. It had been 10 weeks since she took the steps to get rid of 50 pounds.
“It’s like I know what to do. I’ve done it before and felt fantastic. I don’t know why I just can’t seem to stay centered,” she said.
“Did you do what we talked about last week?” I asked.
“No. I was so busy traveling and going to the conference. By bedtime I was so exhausted, it felt like just another thing I had to do.”
“So let me ask you this. Would you think of not brushing your teeth in the morning?”
It’s interesting how we’ve developed certain health practices today that, if we stopped doing them, we’d feel dirty, disgusted or toxic. Just like brushing our teeth or going to the bathroom to eliminate toxic waste from our bodies, these are ways we stay clean and healthy.
But, for some reason, we don’t focus on getting rid of the tremendous amount of toxic waste in our minds and learn to develop clean habits around how we think or what we choose to pay attention to in life. Mind Junk is thought-toxins. They keep us filled with pre-programmed messages which stop us from staying committed to ourselves and manifesting positive change – including weight loss and health.
We wouldn’t dream of not going to the bathroom for days, months or even years. Why is it that we don’t develop a daily habit of cleaning our minds from junk messaging which keeps us so highly distracted?

Many of the messages we hear on television or read in online newspapers or ads send underlying messages that we need something or someone else to make us better or healthier. These messages program our subconscious minds. Our subconscious represents the majority of the decisions we make in life. These messages also prey on our negative thoughts. The end result of all these thought-toxins keeps us in a consumer mindset – a belief that we have to buy
something to make

easy. We don’t have to spend a ton of money to lose 50 pounds and find health. All we have to do is get rid of Mind Junk that’s keeping us in a belief that we have to spend a ton of money!
So, if you really want to take control and get rid of your toxic thought-junk that’s likely keeping your body, mind and spirit unhealthy, here are 2 simple practices you can start doing today.
Morning Practice: Gratitude and Grace
Spend 5 minutes listing 10 things you are grateful for in your life. This will set the tone for your entire day and shift your negative programs to more positive ones. Then, walk through your day with grace and appreciation of life, others and your role in the big picture.
Evening Practice: Proof and Plan
Spend 5 minutes writing down proof of how successful you were today, no matter how small. Spend another 3- 5 minutes planning the next best steps to take tomorrow which will incrementally move you manifest your biggest goals.
According to Ron, the last 30 minutes before bedtime are the most crucial. If we continue to feed it Mind Junk from television, commercials, violent movies or games, Facebooking or going through email, we’re setting ourselves up to fail. And this is the root cause all our integrated health problems.
